A trip to KL Tower – More than just a great view
KL Tower is the seventh tallest telecommunication tower in the world and the tallest in Southeast Asia. Standing at 421m and located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the tower offers more than just a great view. A visit blends cultural and environmental experiences for visitors of all ages. Better still, KL Tower is just a short distance from Ramada Suites KL.
KL Tower was originally constructed in 1984 to improve the quality of telecommunication and broadcasting transmission in the country and it quickly became a significant landmark. Along with Petronas Towers, it is an enduring symbol of KL and easily recognised in Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.
There are several different vantage points at the top of the tower. The Observation Deck allows you to view the city from indoors at a height of 276 metres. Higher up, the Sky Deck lets you enjoy an outdoor view of Kuala Lumpur at a height of 421 metres. For those not afraid of heights, enjoy a mesmerising walk out into the suspended glass viewing area known as SkyBox!
KL Tower is known as the World’s Base Jump Centre. The Tower has hosted the longest-running urban BASE (Building, Antenna, Span, Earth) event since 1999 and it is now the largest event of its kind in the world. If base jumping is not your cup of tea, you can experience breathtaking views of Kuala Lumpur skyline at 276m above ground at the comfort of our Observation Deck all without jumping off the tower!
For those keen to run up to the summit, each year KL Tower hosts Towerthon in August. The race is part of the Tower Running World Association and entrants must endure 2058 steps to the summit!
